Adrian Frutiger Watch for Ventura
The internationally renowned Swiss font-developer and typographer Adrian  Frutiger has created a new watch dial exclusively for Ventura, the  avant-garde watch manufacturer. The «Frutiger watch» was shown for the first time at Baselworld 2003. Adrian Frutiger has developed some of today’s most widely used fonts  such as Univers, Frutiger, and Avenir. He created special fonts for the  entire Charles-de-Gaulle airport in Paris and also for the Paris Metro.  Recently, the Swiss Federal Government announced the replacement of the  national street signs with new ones based on a font by A. Frutiger. The creation of a watch dial was a totally new and fascinating task  for Adrian Frutiger. Searching for a most readable, well balanced  proportions, he composed «Ventura», a new font and designed a very  classic and elegant dial-typography. The new Frutiger chronometer is based on a manual-wind Unitas movement and a case designed by Swiss architect Hannes Wettstein. The numbered series in stainless steel will appear at selected  stores in late May. There will be a limited edition of 49 pieces of the  same model in 18kt gold and with a certificate autographed by A.  Frutiger.
